I want to capture both the music and the essence of the story in opera.    My approach is two-fold - by  focusing on close-ups I capture both the singing and expressions of the performers.  Through long wide shots I capture the intangibles of lighting, set design and direction that tell the story.  The below photos have been taken in workshops and dress rehearsals.
