When taking photos of plays I try and capture the essence of the story.  I do this in two ways - by focusing on close-ups of the actors their expressions tell the story. Through long wide shots I capture the intangibles of lighting, set design and direction that move the story along.  The below photos have been taken in a wide range of spaces that range from outdoor amphitheaters to black box theaters to small lounge stages to international theaters
